The business of the Appalachian Partnership for Economic Growth is to grow the economy and create jobs in the region.  The staff of the three key program areas have specific goals but also work across program lines to bring the right resources to support each company’s needs.

Resources & Services

JobsOhio.  The focus of the APEG-JobsOhio staff is two-fold; to grow the manufacturing companies in the region and to attract new manufacturing companies to the region.  APEG is one of six JobsOhio network affiliates and is the conduit to explore JobsOhio project support in the 25-county APEG region.

Manufacturing Extension Partnership.  Breaking down barriers to growth and improving operations through a variety of quality improvement, workforce development, management and leadership development and Lean production and technology applications describes the work of the APEG-MEP staff.  MEP work with a business to identify and broker cost-effective expertise to target the needs of individual companies.  One of six Ohio MEP affiliates, APEG-MEP serves many of Ohio’s Appalachian counties directly and collaborates to serve to other counties with MEP sister affiliates.   APEG-MEP supports all of Ohio’s forest and wood products industry.

SBA Regional Innovation Cluster Initiative.    With support from the Small Business Administration (SBA), APEG staff provide manufacturing technical assistance and export assistance for all sectors of the forest and wood industry in Ohio’s 32 Appalachian-designated counties.  An interactive online database of Ohio wood products businesses has been developed to market the Ohio Wood Products supply chain.
