Bellisio dishes out donation to JCEDBMay 11, 2015
As a part of the company’s ongoing community support, Bellisio Foods has made a generous donation to the Jackson County Economic Development Board.
On Wednesday, company officials Mike Evans, Ryan Wright, and Larry Sprague presented a check for $5,000 to the JCEDB and its leaders, Executive Director Jennifer Jacobs and Assistant Director Sam Brady when the two sides came together on the Bellisio campus in Jackson.
“We are very happy and proud to be associated with the economic development group here, and I would especially like to thank Jennifer and Sam for all of the hard work they have put in on their endeavors,” said Evans, who serves as Bellisio’s Senior Vice President of Operations. “As a result of all their fine efforts, we are proud to provide this donation.”
Jacobs said she was very appreciative for the donation to her organization, and thanked Bellisio for its continued support of JCEDB and the community as a whole.
“As a leader in the frozen food industry, Bellisio Foods employs more than 1 percent of the national frozen food workforce right here in Jackson,” Jacobs stated. “We value our relationship and partnership, and will continue to make every effort to assist (Bellisio) in its future growth and success.”
JCEDB provides assistance services directed toward encouraging the startup, retention, and expansion of Jackson County, Ohio businesses and jobs, particularly with small businesses; creation of new jobs and employment opportunities; and diversification of economic activity.
Bellisio is a major American frozen food manufacturer whose brands include Michelina’s, Boston Market, Chili’s, and Overhill Farms, and through its Jackson facility is one of the largest employers in the area.
